报告人简介:
Franklin (Feng) Tao is a tenured Miller associate professor of chemistry at Department of Chemistry and of chemical and petroleum engineering at Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering and y at University of Kansas. He received a Ph.D. from Princeton University with a following postdoc research at University of California at Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. His research interests include heterogeneous catalysis for chemical transformations of small molecules to chemical and fuel feedstocks and for environmental remediation, application of catalysis to energy transformation, synthesis and catalysis of single-site metal and oxide catalysts, development of in situ and operando characterization instruments/techniques for fundamental studies of catalyst surfaces under reaction conditions and during catalysis, and in situ and operando studies of structure and chemistry of catalysts with ambient-pressure X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, ambient/high-pressure, high-temperature scanning tunneling micros- copy, and environmental transmission electron spectroscopy. He published over 130 research articles. He is an elected fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry. He received Eugene P. Wigner Fellowship (2010), finalist prize of Gerhard Ertl Young investigator award (2011), Paul Holloway award of AVS (2012), NSF-career award, and Miller research award (2014). He is on the advisory editorial boards or editorial boards of several journals including Chemical Society Reviews, Catalysis Science& Technology, and Science China Materials.
